As far as a bunch of us could tell at a couple shows this summer, that isn't a real SuperSnake. It's a GT500 that a guy that works at MC built up to "look" like a SS, but it looked to be a GT500 that had never seen the inside of Shelby American, as it was missing a few of the tell-tale signs that Shelby actually did the conversion. Say what you will about Shelby American, but a fake, wanna-be is the worst in my book. Either buy an original, or build up your own Mustang to make it yours, but don't try to make it something it's not.

That's what i was thinking. In Steamboat, the for sale sign said "Super Snake Tribute Car."

Shelby may not have actually built it, but isn't the Super Snake package basically a post title bolt on package? So with enough money you could buy the parts and do it yourself.

It is a post-title bolt-on package, but only directly through Shelby American, and a very small group of Shelby Licensed shops (Tasca Ford, for example). You cannot get any of the SuperSnake specific parts (anything that says "SuperSnake", CSM plates, rocker panel logos, etc.) from Shelby unless you own a real SuperSnake and need replacement parts. You have to provide Shelby with a CSM # to get those parts. Same as what I have to do with my Shelby GT.

Reminds me of a supposed SuperSnake that Lakewood Ford had last spring. Salesmen were all excited about the SS on the showroom floor. When they told me the price ($45k), I told the salesman it wasn't a real SS without even seeing it. When I actually saw it, I was shocked at what a p*** poor job was done. This thing was a joke, looked ridiculous, and the dopey salesmen had absolutely no clue that it was a pathetic attempt at a clone.

FYI, this car is currently in my shop. The new owner is doing a bunch of worthwhile modifications, and will be putting the car back to original GT500 condition, removing all of the "supersnake concept" components. He is keeping the Kenne Bell.

Hoping to get him out to the local road course tracks this summer and see what it can do with the suspension upgrades.
