    Default J's 03 GT

Ok, I think this is perfect timing because today, my MAF went stupid. Luckily, my KB is about to be installed then the first week of March, it goes to the shop to be repaired from the deer and keying.

Here are some pictures of stuff that came in this past week. I will update as I move along. Tomorrow was supose to be my install date, but I will be moving it back because my help can't make it, and the MAF issue. Hopefully Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be my friends.

    KB 2.1....

    WeaponX XCOPs EFX

Accufab 75mm TB, Steeda oil seperator, KB coolant tank, NGK BR7EF, KB BAP, KB Coolant pump,

KB Switch chip, Bosch 39# injectors, KB Big Tube, 12 & 14 psi pulleys, KB heat exchanger

I will say, I was worried about even getting it ordered because of the horror stories I have heard about KB's customer support. I guess I was lucky, I sent an email, had a response that day, and it was 8 days from the first conversation until it was at my door. Plus, with the 10% military discount, I got the SC and the big tube kit, 2 extra pullies and the wrench for pretty much the same price as the just the SC kit.

Nice. I was just looking at the BlowZilla kit for 5.0, and the 2.8L for the 03 Cobra.

Gotta love the KB! I love that they hook up the military too. I suggest you get it tuned by Scott at P&P once you have it installed. He did mine and it is a huge difference from the KB tune they sent.

Time to resurect my thread. I would just make a new one with a poll....but Ill just work on it in here.

If you are wondering what happened to the car.....please read the other post. Details are there. So now with the new build. Since things went south, I have decided to rebuild and go from there.

Here is a list of things already ordered and on the way.

    MMR 1000s Stroker Short block
--Boss Mod 5.0 block (5.3L total)
    --MMR Oil Pump
    --MMR Windage Tray
    --MMR Oil Pan
    --ARP Main Studs
    --ARP Head Studs
    --ARP Block Side Bolts
    --Piston Notching
    MHS Stage 3 heads
MHS Stage 3 PD Blower Cams
MMR Fuel System (yes, there were other ones out there, but MMR actually hooked me up pretty good for everything I ordered from them)
    75lb injectors
    T-56 Magnum
Speedhut Revolution Gauges (boost, wide band, fuel pressure, oil pressure)
    Raptor shift light
    SoS gauge pod
**getting rid of Auto Meter Carbon series gauges....see the classifieds soon.

    Things I already have:

    KB 2.1 Intercooled
**could be in the classifieds soon

Things I still need to buy:

    Valve covers (probably Moroso fab)
    Clutch/Flywheel Kit
    Alternator
    Pypes Longtubes
    Pypes H-pipe
    Steeda Cat-back
**Bassani x and SLP LMII in classifieds soon

Here is the decision I need to make. Do I stick with the KB 2.1? It is possible to get decent power out of it, but the inlet is VERY restricted. I ported the **** out of it, and saw a 2 psi jump after the porting. My problem is even running 14-15 psi (without the 2 psi bump) gets this blower HOT driving it any length of time. At this point, I am leaning towards selling the KB and going with a TorK Tech Terminator manifold kit with a W175AX (2.9) Whipple. I am leaning towards the Whipple for a few reasons. 1) it wont work near as hard for what I am going for, so the IATs will be pretty low. 2) it is upgradable. If I actually go with a 2.3 Whipple right now, I could upgrade to the 2.9 on the same manifold.....can't do that with the KB....because if I could........ (but, why go with the 2.3 when the 2.9 is the exact same price)

If I go with the Whipple, there a few more things I would need to buy.

    Tork Tech Terminator kit
    Whipple W175AX
    Cobra single blade TB
    JLT Cobra CAI
    JLT 110mm Maf
    MAFia

Let me know what you think about the KB vs the Whipple. I will keep posting pictures as items come in and get installed. I am working with Scott on this, so it should be done very well. He said he was pretty busy so I figured I would get the parts to make life easier.

I am biased since I just ordered my TT TVS kit but I vote for the TT with the Whipple. The options are endless with the TT kit and it is great quality.
