Joe, that is going to be an awesome car. I can't wait to see it. I don't believe I have seen a built 2.3T Mustang personally. I'm glad to hear you are still pounding away at that Mustang.

Matt I missed your post here. Just found it today. What are you up to these days? Yeah, this project shudda been done a long while ago. I guess when you have a friend working on your car its hard to be mad at him for not getting it done sooner. I'm having fun with it. I'm trying to keep it a budget build, so nothing radical, but it will be fun to have boost. I ultimate goal for the motor would be somewhere just under or near 400hp, but that's about money...so it will be fun just to drive it for now.
I'm pretty much going through the car.....i'm changing out the red interior to black and the whole suspension deal etc...
good to hear from you Matt.

Rich, um its pretty mild/stockish to start. We're just using a ranger roller cam in it and a t3 turbo. The head was worked over a little but nothing earth shattering. It has a fresh bottom end with new eagle rods and pistons. I did swap in a 8.8 rear end with 3:55's in it and some new control arms etc. Once I get to drive the thing i'll be thinking about the next mod. In the end i'll be going with a custom cam from Bo-port and i'll do the ported intake and exhaust on it. Tubular headers are still so expensive that i probably wont be doing that unless i come across a deal i can't refuse.
I'll be looking to upgrade the turbo eventually too.....like everyone else....i'll want more power...But I do hear that the t3 and the ranger cam is pretty damn fun for around town driving.

So, I'm back in the saddle. I drove the car into work today. I can understand how once you go boost you never go back.....the sound of the turbo is worth it by itself. We have it running on minimal boost 7-8lbs for a bit to work out the kinks. We just have a stock t3 from an SVO and Marc fabricated a air/water intercooler for it. Nothing real complex but we were going the "affordable" route.
I'll post pics tonight after work...
Oh, and I could use some stock svo parts....if anyone has some things lying around...buzz me...please. I'm hitting up Rich to see what he has....

finished motor pics
I've been driving the car daily for a month now. I have some things to work out, but it's a driver. A little rough with some exhaust leaks and a tranny that i picked up on the cheap that needs some synchro's....min boost right now, just need a controller. The lil t3 whistles like crazy with the 3" exhaust....definitely more fun than stock with an automatic. i'm sure this summer i'll be playing with some upgrades....2011-10-30_15-23-28_117.jpg2011-10-30_15-23-35_830.jpg2011-10-30_15-23-46_305.jpg
