AreteRacing's 65 Coupe
Finally starting a build thread on this thing. Little history and info on the car. I picked up the car in Joplin Missouri from a kid about 25 years old. He had the interior gutted and had primed the outside. He had bought it from an older guy in Indiana who had a shop do all the work to the car. Came with a built 351, aluminum heads, Art Carr AOD, Currie 9", Rods and Customs front with coil overs and rack and pinion steering, 4 wheel discs, has new floors, doors, fenders, quarters, Auto Meter gauge pack, Vintage A/C system, and a bunch of spare trim stuff.
Since I started working on it, everything looks like it was done nicely. Looks like a new harness under the dash, and found out it has roller rockers. The work the kid I bought it from did was pretty crappy. I tore out the stereo wiring he did as it was spaghetti, and the primer job sucked.
This weekend I fixed the broken new starter (tab broke off the bendix), sanded down the primer, pulled off the rear sway bar as it's the wrong type and was hitting the 9", installed a new ignition, rebuilt the carb (actually last weekend) and started putting the small stuff together (thanks for the help Tim!) I got the car started and shot some paint on the roof and glass areas. Need to order some parts to install the glass and finish painting. Bolt in the seats, install the lights, gonna lower it some more and roll the fenders, then it's drive time. Not going to do much else till winter so I can enjoy it. Sounds really good and feels like it has a little higher stall converter just inching it back and forth.
And the pics

Painting it satin white for now. Probably throw a stripe on it and call it good so I don't worry about paint while working on it.

First startup of the car. Odometer shows 77 miles on it. Sorry for the suck vid, but the seats not bolted in and I had to hold onto the wheel to stay upright lol

About time you've done something with this.
If this is anything like your cobra this will be a work of art. Makes me miss my 66 coupe I sold a few years ago.

Looks good, it has all the parts I wish I had for my 65. I did actualy drive a 66 a while back and that will take some getting used to being used to newer stuff. These older ones steer real strange IMO.
