2012 Update
So as much as I wanted to just forget the 2011 season, here we are 2012. Progress has been made, and is ongoing until the season starts in mid April.
The 94 has been stripped down again, the rear end is out awaiting 3:73 gearing, a PM3L suspension modification, and Cobra rear brakes to complement the fronts.
Motor is being prepared to go back in, found a new Ford shortblock, had to cam it with an E-Cam, some rebuilt GT40P heads, and SN95 Cobra intake.
The final step is to make room for the new shiney stuff...
Just need to take a few things off the old one: motor mounts, oil pump, and guide pins. Suprisingly I found an E-Cam in the old block. I suspected it may have been cammed, but did not know until now. I'll check out the other internals as well, I bet it has some good stuff.1985 SVO 2R

The front brakes got a little sexier:
This is a Wilwood kit made by Revolution Brake. It uses a standard fare Wilwood FSL caliper you can get from Summit or JEGS for $150. Pads are much cheaper and last a lot longer. You can get a set of HAWK Black pads for $80 versus the $180 I was spending on the 11" PBR setup. This setup also uses 13" Cobra rotors.
The rear Cobra rear upgrade is just a standard Ford Racing M2300 setup. I got lucky and found it for $125.

What's the scoop on the shortblock? That's pretty good info on the brakes. They look good! Where did you find the rear kit for $125?

Found the shortblock on Craigs. Guy up north bought a 67 project that came with it. He had different engine plans so I picked it up for $800. It is a brand new Ford shortblock crate motor. It had a truck cam, so I swapped it with the E-Cam.
On the rear brake upgrade, I got lucky. A guy put it up for sale on another board, brand new. Same thing with the Revolution Brake upgrade, bought it from a guy that never even attempted to install it. Can't wait to get it running, got a new big aluminum radiator, and scored a almost new set of 17x9 OEM 03 Cobra wheels for $100/each.1985 SVO 2R

Few more things knocked off the list this weekend. Installed:
MM PHB, it was a PITA. Probably one of the toughest installs in a while.
MM 4 point G-Load brace
Cobra rear calipers/disks, not bad, except the kit does not tell you that you need to clearence the rear caliper brackets
3:73 gear install
Hoping to drop the motor in sonn. Hoping the next few days while the weather is good.
Dyno/safety check is 3/24 at MAC. So the last screw goes in 3/23 midnight? Right?Last edited by RichV; 03-12-2012 at 07:02 PM.

^ Heck that's when you start working on it. Then let someone else drive while you finish on the trailer

Looks good!
