RichV: CMC#71 v2.0, 1994 GT
Seems fitting for me to start the build thread this morning. I should be taking to the track about now for my 1st practice session at Hallett.
But, since the unfortunate incident with v1.0 I'm not. Shooting for the 7/2-3 PPIR race where v2.0 will make a debut.
I did have to sell my 89-132 Saleen to fund this.
For starters, I decided on a SN95. Budget-wise and the fact that most parts that need upgraded on a fox get upgraded to SN95 gear, this will same me some time when I run out of it. And I will. Found a 94 GT on craigs. T5 car, standard grey/black interior, a couple of mods, problem with the charging system. 17x9 wheels (legal for CMC2) and a rebuilt engine were a couple of important aspects, interior had some issues, same with a few exterior dings. Here she is:

Got a new G3 alternator (ouch!) and fixed up the intake a bit. Also routed a shorter belt, used the below diagram. Beware if you use it, the belt sizing is not correct. They have the part #, not belt length. So my setup required the "82.7" belt, well it was actualy a 83.25", but the part # was 600827. So I think they thought the 827 was a 82.7".

Getting the interior ready for the cage. Can you beleive the SN95 dash skeleton? I think that piece holds the whole car together. I'm affraid to remove it because the engine might fall out or something. lol

SN95 guys: Is my dash cluster factory? 150mph speedo and white face? and in the engine pic where my alternator is out, what is the little module mounted under the radiator hose? I unplugged it and the car would not run. There are also 2 wires clipped and sodered together at the bottom of the plug??1985 SVO 2R

I'm gonna be pulling the heads/intake off today and tomorrow. Hoping to have the GT40 gear installed from v1.0. The next biggie is going to be rear end, using v1.0's 8.8 and should change gears to 3:73. Currently the 94 has 2:73s and v1.0's is a stock 98 GT rear with 3:27s and a new carbon clutch pack. After the cage, it's all down to the suspension, H&R race springs, Koni SA fronts, Bistein rear, and front calipers from 1.0 are getting transplanted. Wheels and tires, MM cater camber plates, and a MM bump steer kit is last on the agenda.
BTW, does anyone have that elbow that allows you to adapt a fox intake to the sn95? Or is there an alternative?Last edited by RichV; 06-11-2011 at 08:22 AM.

Bit of a setback today. Found out I have a 86 block/heads. Not sure on the details, but I pulled a head today and found flat-top pistons. Checked a head and found a E6 casting. That's why the flat-tops. The bad news is this bottom end cannot run a GT40 head, specialy with 1.7 rockers. So I need to put the engine from old #71 in it.

Looks like a fun mess Rich. Gauge cluster may be stock but definately an overlay, only a few versions had White Faces and I don't think any of them were GTs. IF it is a stock cluster, be wary as 94/95 were notorious for the speedo gear failing thus innacurate miles tracked as well... though it appears your car may not even have the stock motor? I can't see the module you're refering to but chances are I wouldn't know what it is anyway :p Looks like it may be a coolant sensor? But I can't think of anything you can unplug that wouldn't let the car run... plenty of things you can unplug and the car will try to die at idle or run extremely rough, but shouldn't be anything that prevents it from running...

Update:
Got the motorwork done. The 94 now sports a Foxbody longblock. Had to use the SN95 front drive accessories, but was able to use a Fox throttle cable and re-wire the TPS. This motor does have headers, so hopefully that won't put me over the top on HP.

Disassembly of the old motor.

You can see the flat-top 86 vintage pistons. Found the motormounts being held in place by only 1 bolt to the block on each side!!!

The new motor going in.Last edited by RichV; 07-10-2011 at 06:49 AM.

A little suspension bling:

Installed MM anti bump-steer tie rod ends, MM CC plates, Koni SA (single adjustable) front shocks, and the H&R Race springs. Also removed the ABS sensors, and used the 99 GT PBR calipers with Carbotech pads. That rotor crack looks pretty big.

Lookin good Rich. I love the new suspenion bling. Glad too see V2.0 coming together. I cant wait to see it on the track. You know if you ever need a hand puting it together, or racing it, let me know.

BTW...a little JB Weld will fix that cracked rotor no problem.Previous Stangs:
