Coyote Swap
I am currently working on a Coyote 5.0 swap into my 1994 Mustang Gt Convertible. I started a blog at mustangcoyoteswap.blogspot.com if anyone would like to follow along.

Looks like a cool project. Welcome to the site. We have all done a project on multiple sites and might be better to copy your project on here too so we can comment / ask questions without logging in to another site. JMO.
You said when weighing improved power options, this was the best fit. Can you expand? Compared to what end results? Costs? etc.

Welcome! Looks like fun. If I ever blow my 3-valve up, I think a Coyote will be replacing it. Good luck with your project!

Originally I was going to build my 302 or swap in a 351. The 302 is not good for more than 450 hp without major mods and both would take major money to get to 450 hp and then I would get maybe 8 mpg. The Coyote is going to cost me a bundle to install. The engine alone was over 6 grand and my parts list for the install not including the engine looks like 10 or more grand. Shoud be cool when its done though. I will post a parts and price list on my blog as I go. I would post everything here, but I built the blog for out of town family and friends that are not Mustang freaks like me.

It's a lot cheaper swap for those of you 4.6 guys. 4 thousand of my project money is going into transmission alone. I have to do motor mounts/k-member, coil over etc.

Cool, I'll have to follow your build.

Interesting build, I hope that you'll post updates here or provide an rss feed. People don't repeat click links in threads as often as you'd think.

I will have to do some research on how to set up an rss feed, but if you would like on my blog you can subscribe to email updates.

Cool project! Something different for sure.
But I disagree on the above. You can get plenty of power with a 302/351 with mild mods and some boost. My ProCharged 86 and a buddy's turbo'd 86 made north of 400RWHP and still pulled down 20+ MPGs on the highway. I would think that it would be cheaper than a Coyote with the added parts and brain damage. But there are more and more guys doing it. What is the projected cost of the swap including all parts? And what are you going to do with the 400+ HP?1985 SVO 2R
