My Little Protest
I got a new company truck last fall and the decision was made to put Texas plates on it. Not that I've got anything against it, I just don't want to be associated with it.

What do you have against Texas? Been there, bad experience or just another Native that blames all the State issues on California and Texas??

4 1/2 years in Houston. I don't have anything against Texas - I just don't want any association with it. I spent a lot of time, energy and money to get out of there.

I went to Texas for a wedding and actually really liked it there. People were very nice everywhere we went. Only thing is I don't know how people can stand that heat and humidity.

I grew up in Arlington and San Antonio, but have been here since 1988. We go visit occaisonally and honestly, if the job would transfer us, we would probably move back. The lifestyle is more for us in the weather is nice and warm and we can be active all year long. You can get a huge house with 2-3 acres of land for around $200k. No state tax. The education system is all around better. The car scene is awesome (no emissions either) and the big kicker is what Matt said, the people are just spirited and nice all over the place. They almost go out of their way to be nice and offer to help. Hahaha, I went out there on business and had a blast and as soon as I landed here and got in my car, some dueche didn't think 75 was fast enough and cut me off and gave me the finger. I just laughed because that is almost the way of life here. I don't hate it here but I think I might be getting allergic to the cold or just getting old. Lol!!
It does crack me up though that every time I here someone rant about something wrong with this state it is blamed on the Texans or Californians. I have been to Houston and sure as heck wouldn't live there personally.

Not sure about the rest of the state but I dug Austin when I took a little vacation there. Tons of good BBQ at all the small towns around, and tons of bars with good local music every night of the week. If it wasn't for the hot summers I'd move down there in a heartbeat. Low elevation tracks would be a nice bonus as well.

Let me put a little perspective on this. For the sake of argument, let's assume that everyone here is a Broncos fan. How would you feel if everytime you walked out of the house you had to be wearing somethng that said Raiders on it?
Better yet, how 'bout a 'I love Camaros' sticker on the back window of your Stang?
That's the way I feel about the plates.
