Default NASA Guys, Thoughts on this vid?

I can't tell who's at fault at the start, but it feels like the red Porche is hellbent on passing that Mustang the rest of the vid and "runs" another Porche off the track and has a few other near misses. Also, would those brake lights be acceptable on track? In the video the distract the heck out of me.

first for context - i know nothing about this group - that being said, this looks like a multi-class w2w race, not an "open track" or hpde group.

if this is a w2w race group - i see nothing wrong. the red porsche is pretty aggressive, but that is racing. he didn't hit anyone, he didn't "punt" anyone, he "adjusted" his line to keep the "camera" car in a non-passing position - but didn't "block" that i could see. there is nothing wrong with the brake lights - my bet is he's been hit before and this is his way to make sure you know he is braking.

if this were hpde - the red porsche would be pulled.

Seemed a whole lot smoother than the porsche. Quite impressive.

The pull-away power of the Mustang on the backstretch was pretty impressive. Would like to have seen the next 20 seconds to see the next few turns.

Me too, I think he would have come back and taken that spot.

Wait a minute, you mean big, heavy, American cars ARE capable on a roadcourse? Crazy.

Looks like a race group to me. If that was ANY HPDE group, they would have to call it: HPDEX for Extreme! lol

The vid title states Practice, usualy if there are signs of racing in practice. Both cars can get booted or loose qualifying. I don't see clear signs, but the cake-eaters are definitely gunning for the early Iron. Usualy when you see overdriving and the chased car switching to a defensive line or blocking, that tells you they are racing.

When we ran HPR early this year, it was just practice for the racers. And all of us were grouped together. I was one of the only American cars in the group, it was fun being chased by BMWs and 911s. We weren't racing, but I sure as **** didn't let 'em by easy.

Oh and the brakelights, yea that's what they are meant to do. Focus on the lights rather then passing him. Distraction.

it is not uncommon for american to have more grunt than the porsche. but the porsche typically has more top end. many a time battling with the porsches i could easily out pull out of the turns and on short straights, but given long straigts the porsche top end and better aero would pull ahead. but then we would even up again with grunt over supeior suspension in the turns

if you let those lights distract you - then you're not racing and i'm not saying rich would be distracted either.
